Access & Getting Started Completing Your Return Players & Playing Up After You Submit Fixtures & Transfers Technical Help

Access & Getting Started

Getting into the system and knowing when to use it.

1. How do I access my Match Return Form?+

Go to the GCN Match Return Portal, select your club and enter your club's access code.

You will then be given access to your club's Match Return Form.

2. Do I need a new access code every week, and can I share it?+

No. Your club has its own access code and you can use the same code whenever you need to submit a Match Return.

Keep it somewhere safe. The code should only be shared with the appropriate people within your club who are responsible for completing Match Returns.

Please do not post the code publicly or share it outside your club.

Completing Your Match Return

What to enter when completing a return.

3. When should I complete the form?+

Complete a Match Return after each league fixture.

Both teams should submit their own Match Return for the fixture.

4. What information will I need?+

You will be asked for:

  • Fixture Date
  • Division
  • Your Team
  • Opposition
  • Final Scores
  • Your Umpire's Name
  • Players who took part
5. Why do I have to select my Division first?+

Selecting your Division filters the form so that you only see the teams relevant to that division.

Select your Division first, followed by Your Team and then your Opposition.

6. Where do the player names come from?+

Once you select your team, the registered players for that team will appear automatically.

Simply tick the players who took part in the match.

7. What do I enter for the umpire?+

Enter the name of your umpire who officiated the match.

Players & Playing Up

Registered players, playing up and team information.

8. One of my registered players isn't showing. What do I do?+

This could mean that the player has not yet been registered with the league or their registration has not been processed.

Please do not select another player in their place.

Contact [email protected] to confirm the player's registration before submitting your Match Return.

9. What if someone played up from another team?+

Use the Played Up section of the form.

Add the player who played up and record the number of quarters they played.

Do not tick them as a registered player for the receiving team.

10. Our team or player information has changed. Do we need a new form?+

No.

The forms are linked to the league's current team and player information.

Changes made during the season can therefore be reflected in your Match Return Form without issuing a new form.

After You Submit

What happens to your return and how to check its progress.

11. What happens after I submit?+

Your Match Return is sent directly to the league system.

The league can then match the submissions from both teams, record the result and identify anything that may need reviewing.

12. What if the other team hasn't submitted theirs yet?+

Submit your Match Return as normal. Your submission will be recorded while the system waits for the other team's return.

You can check the live status of your fixture at any time using the Match Return Status page. This will show whether each team's return has been received and whether the result has been confirmed.

Check Match Return Status →
13. What if the two teams submit different scores?+

Do not submit another Match Return.

The league will be able to identify that the two returns do not match and can review the discrepancy.

14. I made a mistake after submitting. Should I submit again?+

No.

The form will reject a duplicate submission for the same fixture date.

If you realise you have made a mistake after submitting your Match Return, please contact [email protected] so the league can correct it for you.

Fixtures, Cancellations & Transfers

League guidance previously held on the League Documents page.

15. What should we do if we need to cancel or concede a fixture?+

Please post a message on the Club Rep WhatsApp group chat notifying the opposition if you need to cancel a fixture, in line with Rules 1.3 and 8.2.

Rule 1.3: Any team unable to fulfil a fixture will have a 1-point deduction and must notify the opposition through the WhatsApp group at least 24 hours before the match. Penalty points will be applied in accordance with Rule 8.2.

Rule 8.2: If a team concedes a match, a 1-point deduction will be made. If the team can play the match as a friendly by playing players up/down or using guests to field a complete team without limitations defined within the rules, no deductions will be made.

When completing the Match Return: the form will ask “What type of match is this?”. Select whether the fixture was played as a normal league match, a friendly, or was conceded as appropriate.

If you select a friendly or conceded match, the form will also ask “Who conceded / requested the friendly?”. Please select the correct team. The form will then give the relevant guidance, including where a 20–0 result applies.

16. When can a player transfer to another club?+

Rule 3.3: A player may transfer to another club once per season.

The transfer windows are from the beginning of the season until 31 October, and from 1–31 January.

A transfer form will be available on the GCJNL website and must be completed and uploaded before the transfer is finalised. A maximum of 2 players may be transferred per team.

Technical Help

Phones, bookmarks and troubleshooting.

17. Can I use the form on my phone?+

Yes. The GCN Access Code Portal and Match Return Forms can be used on phones, tablets and computers.

18. Can I bookmark my club's form?+

No. Please do not bookmark the Match Return Form directly.

If you wish to save a bookmark, please bookmark the GCN Match Return website / Access Code Portal instead.

Match Return Forms may occasionally be updated, so accessing your form through the website ensures you are always using the current version.

19. Something isn't working – what should I do?+

First, double-check that you have selected the correct:

Division → Your Team → Opposition

If something is missing, incorrect or the form is not working as expected, please contact [email protected] for assistance rather than submitting incorrect information.
